Getting to Know the Sugar Glider
A sugar glider is a small animal that is active at night. It belongs to a group of animals called marsupials. Marsupials are animals that carry their babies in a pouch. Sugar gliders mostly live in forests in Australia, Papua New Guinea, and some parts of Indonesia.
This animal has soft gray fur, big black eyes, and a long tail. One interesting thing about sugar gliders is the thin skin that connects their front and back legs. This skin helps them glide from one tree to another. Even though they cannot fly like birds, they can glide quite far in the air.
